What is Counselling?

Our therapists' specialize in helping persons who are experiencing issues with the following:

Sessions

Most counselling sessions are one hour. The first visit may be longer (one and a half to two hours) if there is more than one family member attending the session or if the counsellor needs to collect additional information. The suggested length of treatment can be discussed with your therapist. 


Fees

Services are provided on a fee-for-service basis. Many company Health Insurance Plans, Employee Assistant and Extended Healthcare Plans provide coverage for Psychologists and Psychotherapists. If you were injured in an accident or your workplace, the government or your automobile insurance company may offer to pay for your sessions.

CONFIDENTIALITY 

Your privacy and confidentiality is of utmost importance to us. Permission to disuss and disclose information about treatment and progress will need to be provided in writing by the client. In these cases, you would be asked for your permission in advance, as a consent form would need to be signed.

Counselling helps individuals, couples, and families deal with mental, emotional, and everyday life issues by providing a safe and confidential space to explore these issues, improve relationships, and advance towards personal goals. The main objective of counselling is to give you the opportunity to reflect on yourself using the relationship with the therapist as a mirror and support. You will gain new perspectives and learn how to make healthier decisions and move towards positive change.
